The Process

  • Our experienced team, all of whom come from teaching and education backgrounds, has many years experience in finding suitable positions for well qualified and suitable education and teaching candidates.
  • After you’ve registered, you will receive a call or email from an experienced member of the Recruitment for Education (REd Teachers) team to find out more about you and to discuss the sort of position you are looking for. They will also ask about when you are available, your qualifications, strengths and weaknesses, your experience and so on.
  • What we have to have before you start – by law we have to comply with certain rules and regulations and this involves complying with the Vetting and Barring Scheme and child protection rules. Therefore, we will check your references, qualifications, identification and the necessary disclosure and criminal/police checks.
  • When we are happy that we have done our necessary checks and have confirmed that you are eligible to work in our schools, we start work matching your skills and requirements to our list of vacancies. We keep in regular contact with you. We hope that you keep in contact with us by telephone or email as well.
  • When we’ve found a post that we think will suit you and matches your ‘skill set’ and requirements we’ll let you know either by phone or email. This information will include details about the school such as the latest Ofsted (Inspection) report and also some information about the local area (if you are not already local to that area).
  • If the post is of real interest to you, we’ll send your details to the school - including your CV and references. You may either get paid by the school directly or by Recruitment for Education (REd Teachers). There are advantages getting paid both ways and your consultant and the school can discuss this with you.
  • If you are shortlisted, Recruitment for Education (REd Teachers) will organise your interview and give advice about planning and preparation, what the arrangements on the day will be, help with transport arrangements and any other information. Please feel free to ask us for advice!
  • If you are successful, Recruitment for Education (REd Teachers) will help you source accommodation (if required) and give you general information about the area, help with opening bank accounts, registering with the GTC and all the necessary things that you require.
  • When your new position has begun, we’ll be in contact with the school and yourselves on a regular basis. This is to ensure that you are settling in well and the school is also happy and supportive. If you want or need to do your induction period, get QTS or go on other professional development courses, we will help facilitate this.
